OPCOM was founded by Chip Moss in 1986 to serve the local industry for all their needs relating to fiber optic communications.   OPCOM was the first company in Israel to specialize in sales of fiber optic products and to offer value-added services.

OPCOM represents and distributes world-class vendors in the field.  Among the companies represented are both technology leaders and service providers. We offer the local industry a full portfolio of fiber optic products and we support local companies in their R&D efforts, product manufacturing and test and measurement activities.

While maintaining its leading position OPCOM develops unique services for the local R&D and start up environment. We support new projects by developing prototypes and we have a sub-contract manufacturing department for assembly and testing of optical modules.  We manufacture custom fiber optic test systems that we sell both in Israel and abroad.  We provide solutions to customers in the U.S., Europe and China. Using OPCOM labs to obtain BOM and build prototypes gives OPCOM an advantage over our competitors as we are involved from the beginning stages of what may be promising projects.
